I designed six covers for independent author Linda Gillard. The first two designs were intended only for e-books, but reader demand meant adapting the original digital designs for print on-demand. For Emotional Geology and A Lifetime Burning this meant expanding the original images to wraparound the full book jacket – all done before generative AI, may I add! I hugely enjoyed working with Linda to adapt her cover images to capture exactly what she wanted - for example, adding a red kite flying over a Scottish castle, or creating beautifully turbulent skies. However, my own personal triumph was making sure all of the spine text lined up perfectly across the series – publishers, take note!
